Is it worth?
Look let me tell you this- Bareilly Ki Barfi is actually a modern version of the Salman-Madhuri-Sanjay starrer blockbuster Saajan. Bareilly Ki Barfi is ‘A Wasteful Remake Of Blockbuster Saajan’. The story clones that of Saajan. The only difference is that Saajan was a blockbuster with power-pact performances but this one will surely disappoint you. Poor editing, screenplay, dialogues and direction are the reasons for this failure. So what’s with the story?

Why? What’s with the story?

The three lead characters are introduced one by one. Bitti is carefree, liberal, loves to groove on music, enjoys watching English films and oh yes a smoker.. Her modern lifestyle is a reason she is been rejected by many grooms. Lots of pressures from parents and the complexities of married life ultimately force her to run way from her home. It is here where she chances upon a book at a railway station named “Bareilly ki Barfi” and interestingly finds the female protagonist in the book resembling to her. All she wonders is that is there someone whose exactly feeling the way she feels? So she embarks on a journey to search the author and lands up meeting Chirag Dubey (Ayushman Khurana), printer of the book. He fabricates a story as he’s fallen in love with her. From here the third character Rajkumar Rao aka Pritam Vidrohi comes in picture as the author. What is the mystery behind the book’s author, does Kriti Sanon get to know the real author of the book in the end and what connection does Ayushmann Khurrana has with the book, is what forms the film.

Will the star performances save you?
This is as simple- All the three actors are desperately looking for a hit film. And out of the three only Rajkumar Rao can be your savior for this film. Rest both Ayushman and Kriti fail to please the audience. The veteran actors Seema Pahwa and Pankaj Tripathi make for an endearing watch thankfully! Both are simply adorable in their respective characters in the film. The way in which they have handled their screen spaces is definitely praise worthy.

What about the music?

As far as the music is concerned, there are a couple of songs which makes for good listening. These songs include ‘Sweety Tera Drama’, and the soothing ‘Nazm Nazm’. The other songs are just about average and do no good to either the film or its narrative.

Yay or Nay?

Umm.. on a serious note if you have nothing else to do on this weekend and are desperately wanting to go for a movie I would suggest to go and watch Annabella Creation instead of  Bareilly Ki Barfi.
