Lucknow Central | Simran | Movie Review

What to say about Lucknow central and Simran? Lucknow Central has a pretty neat cast, the entire story shares its backdrop with the famous American TV Series ”PRISON BREAK”! I wonder what’s wrong with Bollywood these days, creativity looks a distant dream. Firstly, the story revolves in a prison named Lucknow Central where the inmates hatch a plan to set out of the prison.  Secondly, Kishen (Farhan Akhtar) is wrongly accused of a murder. Thirdly, Kishen along with his inmates plan the perfect escapade by participating in a band competition with the help of Diana Penty (an NGO worker). Fourthly, all the while spending in jail these people develop recreational activities which become a part of their lives thereon. And finally the heartening journey of the undertrials by Farhan Akhtar, Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma and Inaamulhaq. All these bear resemblances with Prison Break. The music and background scores are fair but the direction seems gripping. If a die hard Farhan fan go for it. Else go watch Terminator..

Lucknow Central | Simran | Movie Review

Oh, look who’s here now! ‘Hi, I am Maniben, Shakuntla, Kanta ki badi ben’ aka Simran. Simran is Screenwriter Apurva Asrani’s real character (Sandeep Kaur who amassed large gambling debts and decided to rob banks to repay the money) who is transformed into a reel character. Praful Patel (Kangana Ranaut) well settled in the US is ambitious but lured to the world of crime as she is arrested for robbing a series of banks in America and earning a sobriquet of ‘Bombshell Bandit’ by the FBI and if you have noticed her wearing fashionable disguises in the trailers you know what I mean. She is actually a US based nurse got caught up in a huge gambling debt and how she pays off marks the entire plot of the story. The music and background scores are disappointing and direction suffers greatly. Unfortunately, the Queen is not able to recreate the same magic as before.

So what’s gonna be your choice Lucknow Central or Simran this weekend?
