A mega app, likely to be called HindRail will be announced in June this year. This app is said to have all the facilities and will incorporate all the existing railway apps.

This app will provide all the basic information regarding the arrivals, departures, delays, cancellations, platform number, running status and berth availability. Apart form these enquiry information, the app is said to offer bookings of taxis, porter services, retiring rooms, hotels, tour packages, e-catering and other travelling issues.

It is also said that the app will offer services as per a revenue earning platform for public transporters.

Indian Railway often gets the same complaints by travelers that they don’t get proper information about train late running status. Mohd Jamshed, Railway Board member (traffic) said “The new app will be launched in June and it will not only give you information, you can also track trains through it,”

Currently apps like CMS for complaint management system, National Train Enquiry System (NTES) for inquiry services, apps for booking reserved and unreserved tickets handled by IRCTC can be seen used by the users. It’s said that the new app will integrate all these apps.

In the case of name, Jamshed said, “We have to give a suitable name for it but it has not been decided as yet.” But among names such as MeriRail, ERail, MyRail and Rail Anubhutin, HindRail can be considered the most reliable yet.
