The NSUI has won the democratic mandate for DUSU despite all efforts by the ABVP to subvert the electoral
process through the use of force, intimidation, and cheating.

4 Presidential candidates were eliminated at the ballot stage simply because they were opposed to the ABVP
President candidate (who has now filed an intervention in Rocky’s hearing). All 4 candidates had to be allotted a
ballot number because their elimination was in bad faith. Rocky too was reinstated by the intervention of the
Honourable Court. Despite getting no time to campaign, Rocky went on to defeat the ABVP candidate.

However, instead of taking the final DUSU result in good stride, the ABVP, is trying to misuse the judiciary to
subvert the democratic mandate given by DU Students. Defeated candidate Rajat Choudhary went to the Delhi
High Court complaining against Rocky on basis of a false FIR which was registered by the BJP government in
August 2014 against a group of students, during the 2014 DUSU elections.

However, within a month, the complainant gave an undertaking in Court, wherein he desired to withdraw the
case against Rocky. This further proves that the said FIR was a frivolous one and till date, despite the passage of
more than three years, the Court has not framed any charges against Rocky. Similar FIR was pending against
ABVP DUSU President 2014 Parvesh Malik. In fact, current ABVP DUSU Secretary is also being investigated
in a criminal case filed by the Dean of Law Faculty. She has also been captured by national media beating up a
fellow student.

NSUI will not bow down to fascist forces who are misusing government machinery to malign its image. We
have complete confidence in the Judiciary. ABVP- BJP will do good to face us in a democratic contest and not
through frivolous pleas, which the court has refused to entertain – NEERAJ MISHRA.
