This is the top email in today’s leak which contains the message of John Podesta, co-chair of Obama’s transition team saying not to accept invitation to a G-20 meeting in November 15 on the global financial crisis should outgoing President George W. Bush invite him that night after Obama is officially elected.
The Obama messages were among some 23,000 e-mails stolen from podesta, who is now serving democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman. The White House declined to comment. On October 6, 2008, email with the subject ‘Diversity’ from Michael Froman, Barack Obama’s current trade representative, said to the Illinois senator: ‘Following up on your conversations with John over the weekend, attached are two documents’.The first was ‘a list of African American, Latino and Asian American candidates, divided between Cabinet/Deputy and Under/Assistant/Deputy Assistant Secretary levels, as well as lists of senior Native Americans, Arab/Muslim Americans and Disabled Americans.
Michael Forman told Obama, ” ‘We have longer lists, but these are candidates whose names have been recommended by a number of sources for senior level jobs in a potential Administration.’The second attachment was ” a list of women, similarly divided between candidates for Cabinet/Deputy and other senior level positions.” ‘Please let us know if you have any questions’ he said.
WikiLeaks said this is the first batch of Barack Obama’s emails. That means they have more to show.
