A Girl Named ‘Kerala’ From US
A couple from US has named their daughter ‘Kerala’ after they fell in love with the state and its culture. Their daughter is only eight-year-old and studied in school at Kottayam. The couple had come to the God’s own country, Kerala in 2006, before they got married. After, they went to their own country US and got married and named their first child daughter as ‘Kerala’.
Charles Kramer and his wife Brenna are the citizens of US but they chose an Indian state name for their eight year old daughter. They were fallen in love with Kerala state after they came in India. They were liked the culture of Kerala and the pleasing environment of that state. Kerala’s father Kramer also wrote a poem about the ‘Kerala’ State.
Kerala’s father is a TV producer and her mother is an interior designer. “The hills, the lakes and the backwaters left an indelible mark on us. I even wrote a poem about Kerala. During the visit we made up our mind that we would name our first child after the beautiful state,” said Kramer. The couple’s first child daughter whose name is ‘Kerala’ has grew up in Los Angeles.
Recently, the whole family was come again after the first visit of couple in 2006. The couple was come with their daughter Kerala and their five year old son Julian. A trip has been planned by the couple to travel around the world in a year and visiting Kerala was the part of it. The plan was named ‘World Schooling Tour’ and their aim was to complete the seven continents and visit 18 countries.
They are traveling around the world for study of the schooling and teaching methods in the particular area. The family had left Kerala and continued with their world tour after one month stay. “We want to come back to Kerala and continued the education of my children at least for six more months there. It’s a lovely place,” Kramer said.
