It is believed that Ravi Shastri actually didn’t applied for the post earlier, but when the last date for submitting forms got extended, he applied for it and also became everyone’s favorite. He was the team director in 2015 which helped the team a lot in winning the Asia cup. His presence during the time of 2014-16 has been a good time for the team.
Last year, when Shastri’s tenure ended, he wasn’t selected for the post again and Anil Kumble took his place. A controversy also rose when Sourav Ganguly favored Kumble other than Shastri. Though, it’s said that Shastri will once again bring back the good luck for team India and hope that the performance of the team will improve after the poor show in West Indies and ICC champions’ trophy.
