Karan to provide his daughters with all cards- ‘women and victim card’: Kangana Ranaut
Koffee with Karan got the most candid one with ‘Queen’ Kangana Ranaut being her unabashed self and taking down host Karan Johar in the calmest and the most sophisticated manner, recently on Koffee with Karan. While during the rapid fire, Karan asked Kangana who has given her more unnecessary attitude, female co-stars or male co-stars. “I think you Karan,” said Kangana without even batting an eyelid and added, “He is a star and he has given me the most attitude.” Karan immediately rendered his apology to the actress. Kangana then added, “In my biopic, if ever it’s made, you will play the stereotypical Bollywood biggie, who is snooty and completely intolerant to outsiders. A flag bearer of nepotism. The movie mafia.”
Karan Johar said that the actress’s remarks about him promoting nepotism in the film industry doesn’t hold true for him, adding that she made “sweeping statements” to make an impact. He said he was gracious enough to let Kangana speak her mind at his chat show, but doesn’t think she has understood the entire meaning of the term “nepotism” “She was my guest and I had to hear what she had to say. She has a right to have an opinion. When she says ‘flag-bearer of nepotism’, I just want to say, I am glad she knows what it all means.
Days after Kangana Ranaut lashed out at Johar in his talk show, KJo has turned the tables on her and retouched the controversy during a recent speech at the London School of Economics.and said he is tired of “Kangana playing the woman and victim card”. “I am done! You cannot be this victim at every given point of time who has a sad story to tell about how you’ve been terrorised by the bad world of the industry… leave it.”
Kangana hits back at Karan Johar’s “He’s nobody to tell me to leave” with a splendid jibe
As we know of Kangana, as much as she is lauded for her stellar performances, she is known to speak her mind. When most actresses try to be in the good books, she makes bad look good. And it needs more than just guts to take a dig at the host of a chat show. Now that she is in full swings with Karan’s controversies, she has set an unabashed reply saying: “The industry belongs to every Indian and is highly recommended for outsiders like me whose parents were too poor to give me a formal training. I learnt on the job and got paid for it, using the money to educate myself in New York. He is nobody to tell me to leave it. I’m definitely not going anywhere, Mr Johar.”
She further hits back on being said as the ‘victim card’. “But what is pertinent here is: why is Karan Johar trying to shame a woman for being a woman? What is this about the ‘woman card’ and the ‘victim card’? This kind of talk is demeaning to all women, particularly the vulnerable because they are the ones who really need to use them.”
Moreover, on speaking of Karan’s two daughters she says, “Karan is the father of a little daughter, he should provide her with all these cards — the ‘woman card’ and the ‘victim card’, as also the ‘self-made-independent-woman card’, and the ‘badass card’ that I flashed on his show. We will use whatever we need to ensure no one rocks our boat.”
Nevertheless, we await Mr. Johar’s reply and meanwhile if you think Karan Johar is only basking in his newly attained parenthood, the filmmaker is back to stirring the coffee pot with assorted flavours of gossip and controversy.
