Salman’s struggle… not worth mentioning…
Salman Khan, apart from his superstar stature is also known for his BEING HUMAN initiative and for his support for various social causes. Way back in 2012, the actor in his generous nature had also requested the fans and general public to sign a petition in support of Dalbir Kaur who was then fighting for the release of her brother Sarabjit Singh from Pakistan prison. However this part of actor’s struggle hasn’t been included in OMUNG KUMAR’S next SARBJIT, a biopic on the pakistani prisnor.
In june 2012, Salman Khan took to twitter to ask his Pakistani fans to come in support of Dalbir Kaur’s fight for justice for her brother Sarbjit Singh, who was falsely accused as spy and was on a death row in Pakistan jail.
The superstar had tweeted, “Requesting the people of pakistan to support me to help free surabjeet who has been in prison since 30 yrs. Please. Allah ka vasta. Request to the awam of pakistan, member’s of the press, govt of pakistan, president zardari, a humble request.
It would be the most amazing gesture, to send surabjeet back to his family after 30 years. Hope u support me like its your own cause.” He further added “B a part of 1 family’s happiness. Wanted to tweet this for the longest time, saw a pic of surabjeets sister, it Killed me. Felt real sad for her. Help me help her. Its a personal request to all of u in pakistan to send sarabjeet bak to his family in punjab, hope u find it in your hearts to help.”
However, it is said that there is no mention of Salman Khan or the petition in the film. In fact, Salman Khan even met up with Dalbir Kaur who visited him on the sets of the film Dabangg 2 which the actor was shooting for back then.
According to the sources, the reason behind Salman not being the part has a link to his past relationship with AISHWARYA RAI, who is playing the role of Dalbir Kaur in the film.
Apparently, the actress is still not on talking terms with her former boyfriend Salman and did not want to share screen space with him despite him being an active part of the said struggle.
On the other hand, the film’s spokesperson said that the film spans through 23 years, so it is impossible to include every minute detail, hence this incident could not be included.
SARBJIT stars RANDEEP HOODA and AISHWARYA RAI in the lead, which is slated to release on May 13.
