Vijay Mallya is Ready To Talk For One Time Settlement
Today, The founder of Kingfisher Airlines and businessman ‘Vijay Mallya’ tweeted saying that he is ready to negotiate with the banks and pay a onetime settlement charge on the default loan of Rs. 9000 Crore.
“Public sector banks have policies for one time settlements. Hundreds of borrowers have settled. Why should this be denied to us? Our substantial offer before the honorable Supreme Court was rejected by banks without consideration. (I) am ready to talk settlement on fair basis”, Mallya said in a tweet.
He further said “Wish the Supreme Court would intervene and put an end to all this by directing banks and us to negotiate and settle. We are ready.” Yesterday Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi charged against Vijay Mallya that he had failed to disclose the $40 million deal with Diageo company based in London to the Court.
“You answered us whether you have disclosed your assets truthfully? Did you violate the Karnataka High Court order (restraining Mr Mallya from transferring and alienating assets) by transferring $40 million,” a bench of Justice AK Goel and UU Lalit asked Mr Mallya’s counsel.
The Indian government handed over a request to the UK government for Vijay Mallya facing cases of loan default and other financial irregularities last month. He is a former lawmaker of Rajya Sabha has left India on March 2, 2016 and has stayed there at United Kingdom.
