Republic Day: Remembering The Legends

India will be celebrating 67th Republic day tomorrow. Republic day, a day when our constitution was made. India’s constitution is world’s largest written constitution and it took 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to complete the constitution and was enacted on 26th January 1950. There are many people who gave their life for this freedom and we should be thankful to them . So here celebrating this special day today lets take a look to some of our freedom fighters quotes and unknown facts.
# Chandra Shekhar Azad
Chandra Shekhar Azad’s Original name was Chandra Shekhar Tiwari, but got the name of Azad by himself as when he was 15, he was arrested for joining non cooperation movement lead by Gandhi ji. When he was put before a magistrate, he told his name “Azad”(free), his father’s name “Swatantra”(independence) and his residence as “jail”. Since then he is known as Azad. He died at the age of 24.

# Subhash Chandra Bose
Subhash Chandra Bose was brilliant from his childhood. He was an excellent student from beginning. He came 2nd in his matrix exams and scored first class in B.A. in philosophy. Just to complete the promise made to his father, he cleared the ICS(Indian Civil Service) exam with 4th rank and then resigned it during internship to join freedom struggle. In the year 1941, with a daring escape from house arrest in India, Netaji Subhas Bose went from Kolkata to Gomo by a car and from there traveled to Peshawar by train. From Peshawar (now in Pakistan), he went to Kabul and from there he traveled to Germany to seek help from Adlof Hitler.

# Bhagat Singh
Bhagat Singh from his Childhood was a great martyr, as at the age of 8 only, instead of playing with toys, he use to talk about driving out Britishers. He was fiercely influenced by Jalianwala Bagh incident and he immediately went there and also collected mud(red with blood) and use to worship it everyday. He was also hanged an hour ago the timing that was commuted by Judge and was then secretly cremated by jail authorities at the bank of river Sutlej. Bhagat Singh was a tremendous actor in his school days and has participated in many dramas.

# Dr. B. R. Ambedkar
Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was born in a poor family of dalit and had suffered the caste discrimination through out his life. Even while studying in school, he was not allowed to sit in class and had to bring his gunny sack from his home. When thirsty, an upper-caste boy use to pour water from above a particular height as was not allowed to touch neither water nor vessel.. He was the most talented person in the world which has mastery over 64 subjects ,highest in the world ,according to Cambridge university, England 2011. He was also the first Indian law Minister, who resigned due to apposing of his novel “Hindu code bill” for women rights of Indian women.
