Donald Trump along with First Lady Melania Trump and daughter Ivanka Trump hosted their first Congressional Party which was more like a family fair on Thursday evening. While Donald Trump and wife Melania attended people in the picnic, their daughter Ivanka was spotted playing with her daughter Arabella in the Rose Garden.
Melania wore a beautiful ‘osmond grid’ print dress by Greek fashion designer Mary Katrantzou of $2,255 (Rs 1,45,480). The whole lawn was decorated like Manhattan’s Central Park. This was in tribute to Donald trump, the New Yorker who spends time at White House during weekdays.
Trump in his welcome speech at the party in Washington called on the Republicans and Democrats to come together. He then presented his thoughts and prayers for the congressman Steve Scalise who got wounded earlier this month after being shot at the practice session of ahead of the Congressional Baseball Game.
“We are so touched that joining us here this evening are Steve and Jennifer’s children… in fact, we just gave them a beautiful tour of the White House. They got the A-tour. And I want them to know the whole country is praying for their courageous dad,” Trump said.
He also mentioned that he wanted to attend the game which was held on June 15th. “I wanted to be there so badly you have no idea… but our folks from the Secret Service said maybe we should take a pass,” he said.
He then mentioned about the unity which was seen in the players in the last game when after winning, the Democrats gave the trophy to the Republicans so as to keep it at Scalise’s office. “It’s our hope that the unity showed that evening can continue to grow and thrive between Republicans and Democrats,” he said. “I think we’d be doing a lot better and I know the country would be doing a lot better. We will prove worthy of the trust the country has placed in us. I am hopeful the spirit of cooperation we have seen in recent days,” he added.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was captured delivering beer and wine to the members of media at the White House during the Congressional Party.
